A new replacement fire house for the antiquated Wilson Volunteer Fire House in the Wilson section of Windsor. This new state-of-the-art facility is nearly 13,000 square feet in size and houses three double bays in the apparatus room. Amenities include: a large multi-purpose room for assembly with an adjoining commercial kitchen; offices for chief and junior officers; a watch room designed for sophisticated command and control operations during emergencies; interior and exterior spaces for training; a comfortable day room; a large storage area above the apparatus space; a separate bank of toilets for public use; and combination shower-locker-toilet rooms for male and female fire fighters. Publicly accessible spaces are separated from the remainder of the building. The assembly room and commercial kitchen can also be used by Windsor community organizations upon request.
