The original Windsor High School was constructed in 1954. Since then, several additions have been built. The current school is approximately 240,000 square feet in size. It has forty-seven roof areas with thirty different elevations; a sixty-five-foot-eight-thousand-pound HVAC unit elevated on a four-foot platform; skylights; one hundred ten internal roof drains; and significant areas of exterior vertical wall surfaces constructed of EIFS (exterior insulation finish system). A complete redesign and replacement of the existing roof with a new SBS modified bitumen roofing system, including thermal insulation and flashing, and a new EIFS application were necessary. As is often the case with school work, it was necessary to complete the roof during the summer months and at night when school was not in session. All work was completed on schedule and within budget.
